Founded in 1825 by brothers Cyrus and James, Clarks is still a privately held company today based in the hometown of Street, Somerset, England. A global company that sells shoes in over 35 countries around the world.

Their story began nearly 200 years ago when Cyrus and James Clark made a slipper from sheepskin scraps. It was revolutionary at the time; a combination of invention and craftsmanship that has remained at the heart of what we do. And while now, as always, each pair of shoes begins with a hand-carved shape from a single block of hornbeam, advanced construction techniques, contemporary technologies and materials help us deliver bespoke perfection for the modern world.
